Tuition

LATEST NEWS

I am teaching up to 16th May then taking time off for major surgery until the beginning of September. Please continue to send in your enquiries as I am taking bookings for September onwards and limited additional dates in May.

Glass Beadmaking Tuition

These courses take place in my garden studio in Horsham, West Sussex. Come and treat yourself to a day or a few hours learning the secrets of glass beadmaking. I offer all sorts of packages so you can choose when and how much tuition you’d like. Start off with a beginners course then if you want to take it further choose a couple of techniques that you’d like to cover on your second visit (which could be a consecutive day or the next week - you choose) or you could let me choose what we make on the second day.

Studio

My studio has 2 workstations so we can take bookings for 2 students to learn at once. Rest assured that any booking made will only ever be shared with one other student and that you will receive my utmost attention as you are learning.

Lessons can be booked for a date to suit you, we like to be flexible. Please email me for details and to reserve your place. I’ve been lampworking for five years and love passing on the secrets of this wonderful craft.

If you wish to book a place or are interested in these courses please send me an email with any of your questions.

Glass Beadmaking - Beginners 1 day Course

I offer a seven hour course (which includes 1 hour break for lunch) which will cover everything you need to know to set up and start making beads on your own and you will have time to make a variety of beads to show off to your friends. Use of tools, all materials, lunch and drinks are included.

Glass Beadmaking - Beginners 2 day Course

This is a 2 day course (7 hours per day which includes 1 hour break for lunch) that will cover everything you need to know to set up and start making beads on your own. You will have more time to make a variety of beads to show off to your friends. The basics are covered in day one, but in day 2 we can move on to different shaped beads and some more decorating techniques.
Use of tools, all materials, lunch and drinks are included.

Glass Beadmaking - Beginners By the Hour

Tuition is also available by the hour for 4, 5 or 6 hours but excluding lunch. Use of tools, all materials, and drinks are included.

Glass Beadmaking - Taster sessions

These 2 hour taster sessions are ideal if you are fascinated by glass and would like to see how beads are made and have a go yourself. All materials are included and you get to make a few beads to take home.

Glass beadmaking - intermediate and beginners follow up

You can choose what you’d like me to teach you. There are so many techniques to choose from, some are suitable for beginners (a second day) and others are better to try after a little home practice. Contact me for more details or with suggestions of what you’d like to cover.

Bead and Wire Course

I’m also offering a Bead and Wire course for anyone wishing to learn how to make jewellery and for students who’d like to turn their beads into beautiful pieces of jewellery or accessories.

Course details for Bead and Wire will be available on this site soon, in the meantime if you wish to book a place or are interested in these courses please send me an email with any of your questions.

I expect you’re wondering what happened to the bead and wire course? The truth is that I have been so busy teaching glass beadmaking and following all my other leads last year that I couldn’t fit this in. However……..I hope to make this happen this year, especially with all the changes in adult education where they are cutting back on craft courses, so please check back for updates.

Location

My studio is in Horsham, West Sussex, just 20 minutes drive from Gatwick Airport, 10 minutes from the M23 and 25 minutes from the M25. Brighton is a 35 minute drive away, and is an idea place to explore if you’re making your visit a short break (it’s also a fab place to send a friend/partner who’s coming with you and isn’t taking the course!).

Horsham station is on the main line and has trains to London mainline stations Victoria and Charring Cross via Gatwick Airport.
